Glass bottles, newspapers, aluminium cans – these days the things that you don’t throw away can take up just as much room as the rubbish that you do. To help make sorting and storing your recyclables easier, simplehuman designed the new front load recycler bin to neatly separate different recyclable materials while only taking up the minimum amount of floorspace.
The durable plastic bin has a slightly recessed lid so two units can be stacked on top of each other. Alternatively, at just 48cm high, the bins can also be kept inside standard size cupboards.
To make it easy to throw in cans and bottles – especially when the bins are vertically stacked – the front of the bin slopes downwards and has a wide, circular opening that is perfect for depositing cans and bottles. The lid also lifts off to accommodate larger items, like cardboard boxes and the Sunday paper supplements.
A colour-coded dial, with images representing plastic, aluminium, glass, and paper, help you identify the contents at a glance. Simply turn the dial to the appropriate label and a small display window adjacent to the lid opening reminds you what’s in there before you open the lid.
Each bin holds 22.5 litres and is made of durable plastic with a silver plastic accent on the front opening. Multiple bins can be stacked vertically or stored neatly side by side to create a home recycling centre. All parts are designed to be extremely durable and each bin comes with a 5 year warranty.
