spout it out: simplehuman introduces the spout sensor soap pump
LOS ANGELES—Infrared sensor technology. Pre-measured volume settings. Built-in labeling system. The simplehuman spout sensor soap pump has a graceful, extended spout that hangs over the sink basin to prevent drips on the countertop. To use, simply place your hand underneath the spout to dispense soap touch-free, which prevents the spread of germs from uncooked foods and dirty surfaces.
“The success of our first sensor soap pump showed us that there’s a definite need for touch-free dispensing at home,” says simplehuman CEO, Frank Yang, who also acts as the company’s Design Director. “We wanted to expand our line of sensor pumps so that, like our line of step cans, there are styles and options for every home.”
The elegant, elongated shape of the spout sensor soap pump takes its cue from high end faucets. Its arched spout clears the sink ledge to dispense soap over the sink basin to keep wet hands or soap from dripping on the counter. The clear acrylic soap chamber makes it easy to see the soap level and a wide twist-off lid allows for easy refills. The body of the soap pump is rust-proof and comes in three finishes: polished chrome, enameled white, and brushed nickel.
To use the soap pump, simply place your hand under the spout, and the pump automatically dispenses a preset amount of soap. Choose how much soap you want by turning the dial at the base of the pump and selecting from four preset volumes. This feature also allows you to adjust the rate of flow for thicker soaps or lotions.
Easy-to-use, interchangeable “soap” and “lotion” badges come with the soap pump so you and your guests know exactly what’s being dispensed. Simply choose your badge and place it on top of the soap chamber and the magnetic badge locks itself in place.
Another innovative feature is the automatic on/off switch on the bottom of the unit, which deactivates the sensor when the pump is picked up from the counter. This prevents those annoying accidental drips of soap when you’re trying to refill or move the soap pump. The spout sensor soap pump is the latest in efficient, user-friendly sensor home products from simplehuman.
