recycling made easy: simplehuman® introduces new front load recyclers
LOS ANGELES—Bottles, newspapers, aluminum cans—these days what you don’t throw away can take up just as much room as your regular trash. To help make sorting and storing easier, simplehuman designed the new front load recycling bins with an integrated labeling system that makes it easy to see that the bin has been designated for recycling purposes, and more specifically—what type of materials it’s intended to store.
The durable plastic bins are 19” high so they are small enough to fit under most standard cabinets. Or, if you prefer to stack the bins on top of each other, the lid of each bin is recessed slightly to make it easy to stack a second bin on top.
To make it easy to toss in cans and bottles—especially when the bins are vertically stacked—the front of the can is sloped downwards with a wide, circular opening that is perfect for depositing cans and bottles. If you have larger items, there’s a secondary lid that lifts to reveal a much wider, 10.25” opening.
A color-coded dial, with selections to indicate plastic, aluminum, glass, and paper, makes it easy to indicate what’s being stored inside. Simply turn the dial to the appropriate setting and a small display window (conveniently located so it’s adjacent to the lid opening) lets you clearly see what each bin is meant to hold.
Each bin holds 22 litres and comes in either black or grey. A silver plastic accent on the front opening adds to the bin’s stylish appearance. Bins can be double stacked vertically or they can be stored neatly side by side. All parts are designed to be extremely durable and each bin comes with a 5-year warranty.
