To eliminate noise, the step cans have simplehuman’s proprietary lid shox™ technology, which uses air suspension shocks to control the speed of the lid for a smooth, quiet close. The cans also come with a reinforced, extra wide steel-accented pedal for easy access from multiple angles and added durability. A stainless steel stabilization bar keeps the can steady.

A slide lock on the lid keeps curious pets and kids from accidentally opening or tipping over the can. To use the slide lock, simply push it in to lock the lid shut or pull it out to leave the lid open, allowing for total access at any time. Both cans come in highly space-efficient shapes to fit in tight spaces, and have wide openings to accommodate bigger, bulk-sized items.

For the slim plastic step can, the design team added integrated wheels to the back base so it’s easy to slide out of a narrow spot even when full. The wheels fit flush with the body of the can, keeping the shape slim and space-efficient. The step cans are constructed of durable, easy-to-clean polypropylene plastic and come in four colors to fit any décor: black, white, grey, and mocha. These colors add a distinct style accent and allow you to coordinate with appliances, cabinets or walls.
