Announcing the launch of the simplehuman Organize This! contest!
We started simplehuman to help people become more efficient at home. All our products are ergonomic, easy to clean, and we design them to last for years. Our biggest inspiration comes from our customers, and we are looking for your ideas on how to make life at home more organized. Post a photo and description of your home organizational tip on Flickr. Tag your photo with the keyword "organizethis". The top 20 entries will be posted on our blog, and the author will win one free simplehuman stainless steel step can of their choice.

Organizational tip
Because I work in communications, I am always looking through magazines and referencing recent articles. I often use my laptop at the coffee table so by organizing my magazines by publication and date, I can always find what I need. After I read an issue I decide if it is worth keeping. The constant influx of new issues forces me to evaluate and edit my collection weekly so I avoid saving too many. Ultimately a few magazines I find very useful will move to a filing cabinet or the pages (with recipes, articles, etc.) will be torn out and filed and the original magazines thrown out. I also like having a revolving display to look at on the coffee table which otherwise would just accumulate junk.
